The chinese charakters yin und yang, used to create this series, are very important in traditional chinese thinking. The are the two opposite principles of the universe, but they also depend on each other. It should be the aim of each human activity to bring them into harmony.
All pictures
of this series are the result of only one creative night in october 2006.
The all have been created from the same basic motif.
This series
has been created during the nineties in Hamburg. It's just when I began
experimenting with digital paintings.
The basic motif
of this series is a composition of tiles, which has been altered step by
step.
The title of
this series is Ocean.
This series,
titled Kaleidoskope, is made by mirroring various times the same
bacic-motif.
To make this
series I altered step by step a photo of an old entrance door (taken on
Gulangyu island, Xiamen, China) .
The tile-ornaments
I used to create this series can still be recognized on this pictures.
This series
is about the chinese character shan (mountain) in combination
with the characters ri (sun); chuan (river); xue
(snow) and si (monastery - there are so many monasteries on chinese
mountains). Together they form a landscape.
The chinese
character fu means
good luck. Specially during the spring festival it is used to decorate
the front doors of chinese houses.
This series
is about the chinese character yun. It means cloud.
This series has been created in spring and summer 2007.
